My artwork is mixed media/assemblage mosaics and includes just about anything from recycled items, found objects, vintage items, handmade pottery tiles, broken plates, found treasures, and stained glass. My art has been a way for me to de-stress while going through my treatments. I set it aside for a while after hearing the words, “you have cancer,” but after starting it again, it had really helped me.
I was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma in December 2015, and have since gone through a lumpectomy, 2 separate mastectomies and reconstruction, and am now taking estrogen-blocking medication, which has many side effects, so my art is something I can enjoy.
